Understanding Mathematics can be daunting for some, but help is at hand via the Worldwide Web. Whether you’re studying GCSEs, A Levels, a degree, or just for everyday use, here are a few websites and apps that can help you along your journey:

Apps:

1. Photomath: Good for those who need to understand what’s written on physical paper because this app takes pictures and helps breakdown the calculation into steps. It can deal with basic and advance calculations and solutions, step by step. Also, it is free to use, but subscription required for very advance Mathematical solutions.

2. Gauth: Good for breaking down into steps and explaining different ways of getting to the same answer. Free to use calculator functions, however, queries cost tickets, so it is not free for advance queries.

3. Symbolab: Good for basic and advance calculations. It will break down the calculations into steps. It can also show all the different ways of getting the same answer. It is also free to use for basic maths problems.

Wolfram Alpha: This website is not free, however, it is the wizard of all Mathematical websites. It is recommended by universities and it can calculate basic and advance maths – breakdown solutions into steps – and show all the different ways to finding the solutions. It can also help with Physics, Chemistry, Natural Life Science calculations and formulas. Wolfram Alpha also has a section for help with Humanity based subjects under the ‘Society & Culture’ tabs and ‘Everyday Life’ subjects if research is required on non-mathematical related subjects.
